Water is a source of your body’s life. But let’s face it, as much as we want to complete the eight-glass requirement for daily water intake, drinking water from the tap is not that palatable. Here are five ways to kick it up a notch and making drinking water more fun.
1. Infuse with natural juices
Slice up bits and pieces of your favourite fruits and herbs into one container, add in water and leave for thirty minutes or overnight in the fridge.
2. Take it with tea
Either you dip your water with a herbal tea bag or mix it with brewed green or white tea and spritz in lemon, then wait to chill before drinking.
3. Create popsicles
Add in half a splash of water with half a splash of your favourite fruit juice and maybe toss in a slice of your favourite berry in a tray of ice cubes to create a no sugar added frozen concoction that you’ll not only enjoy but can share with your kids too.
4. Stick with citrus
Freeze slices of lime, lemon or grapefruit. Add to water as ice cubes. This brew is another fun variation of a water infusion that will surely perk you up.
5. Sprinkle some sweetness
If you’re one of those people who can’t live without sugar but still wants to omit additional calories, then just add a sprinkle of Splenda or other variants of no calorie sugar substitutes to keep the sweet flavour.
Keeping up with these tiny rituals will ensure that you not only drink the required allotment to keep your body hydrated but also means investing in having a daily dose of vitamins that will keep your skin plump and elastic. These water infusions or ‘vitamin waters’ will awaken your well-being as you awaken your taste buds to the most unique flavours.
